Gibson / Les Paul Custom Peter Frampton / 2007 / Guitar

When Peter Frampton was playing a show at the Fillmore West in San Francisco in 1970, he played a ES-335 and throughout the show Frampton, and the band and audience, was plagued with feedback from the hollow-bodied Gibson. Mark Mariana, suggested him to use his modified 1954 Les Paul Custom and after using it for a show, Frampton was impressed. He offered to buy the guitar on the spot, but Mariana insisted on gifting it to Frampton. The guitar would hardly leave Peter Frampton's side for the next decade. Until it was allegedly destroyed in a cargo plane crash in South America. However, the wrecked guitar was brought to Donald Valentina, luthier, for a restoration. Valentina recognized the guitar and eventually, after years, was able to buy the guitar of the owner. Valentine flew to Nashville to meet Frampton and reunited him with the guitar in 2011, 31 years later. Named Phoenix now, it's back on the road with Frampton. This 2007 Les Paul from the Custom Shop is a recreation of the modified 1954 model. It features a custom slim neck with an ebony fretboard with MOP block inlays. The pickups are a a Gibson '57 Classic in the neck, a '57 Classic Plus in the middle position and a Gibson 500T Humbucker in the bridge position. It has the remarkable white pickup rings, the gold hardware and a signature in the block on the 12th fret. It has a maple top, in oppose of the original mahogany top and other than that, and the lack of the burn spots and marks, it's basically a complete recreation of the Phoenix.  Why isn't it aged with the burn marks that make this guitar so remarkable? Because this reissue was released some years before Peter Frampton was reunited with his guitar. It's in excellent condition with traces of play wear and some minuscule dents here and there. Travels in the original case, with all the belongings and certificate of authenticity. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
