Gibson / Les Paul SG / 1963 / Cherry Red / Guitar

Near mint, 1963 Gibson Les Paul Standard SG with ZERO issues, all totally correct with correct black / orange hard case. It’s not very often you can say that about an SG from this era…

Classic, last year of the ‘Les Pau’l on the truss rod cover, last year of the sideways pull vibrola and one of the first of the slightly revised neck join with the step on the heel. Hardly any fade at all and still ultra vibrant, even the nickel plating gleams like it is hardly 4 years and belies it’s true 55 year old age. In fact it does look quite remarkable for a 55 year old vintage guitar.

We cannot see a thing out of place here. Original virgin solder, 2 x unmolested PAT number pickups (identical to early 60’s PAF’s bar the sticker), all correct hardware which all tally with the remarkable condition this guitar is in. ZERO neck issues, no jack socket crack and a dead straight neck which plays very fast on the original frets that have very little wear. What more could anyone ask for…?

Neck by this period, is starting to get a little meatier so those of you who do not like the slimmer neck profile of the early 60’s types will probably warm to this one a bit better. Weight is very light and it really is a total joy to play.

Take a drool over the photos and have a look at the gleaming condition this beauty is in - there is hardly a mark on it anywhere. It is not totally mint as it does have a small amount of checking but it is, by anyone’s definition, a strong near MINT.

One of the nicest all correct examples we have seen for very long time. I am sure there will be a bit of interest this truly amazing guitar…
