Greenfield Guitars / G4.2 / 2020 / Natural / Guitar For Sale

A breathtaking instrument in every sense, this 2020 Greenfield G4.2 is a masterclass in modern acoustic guitar design - built by one of the world's most revered luthiers, Michael Greenfield. Completed in July 2020, this is build #323, and it's one of the finest contemporary acoustics you're likely to encounter.

The guitar features a Sitka spruce top paired with East Indian rosewood back and laminated sides, delivering a tone that's rich, complex, and deeply resonant. It has a focused low end, airy trebles, and an expressive midrange response that's both articulate and incredibly dynamic. The DADGAD fanned-fret layout not only optimises tension and intonation for alternate tunings, but also lends a naturally ergonomic playing experience - perfect for the modern fingerstylist.

As you'd expect from Greenfield, the appointments are meticulous and beautifully executed. A Florentine cutaway offers unhindered access to the upper register, while the body is accented with ebony bindings and fine violin-line purflings. The signature Greenfield rosette features paua heart abalone and spalted beech - a stunning, organic touch that sets it apart. Comfort is key too, with a Laskin-style arm rest and rib rest seamlessly integrated into the body for a truly relaxed playing posture.

The quarter-sawn neck has a compound-radius ebony fingerboard (16"-20") and features a swooping heel carve for enhanced upper-fret playability. The Honduran mahogany neck is reinforced with carbon graphite and carved to Greenfield's "Standard" profile - a perfect blend of substance and comfort. The ebony string-through bridge, inspired by the design language of Steve Klein, is another elegant and functional touch.

Hardware includes gold "g" 510 tuners with ebony buttons, and a natural unbleached bone nut and saddle. It's housed in a custom-fit Main Stage flight case and remains in outstanding condition, showing minimal signs of use.

Simply put, this is a world-class instrument built by one of the best. Whether you're an advanced player looking for the ultimate stage or studio guitar, or a collector with a taste for elite-level luthiery, this Greenfield G4.2 offers a rare opportunity to own something truly special - without the years-long wait!
