PRS / Private Stock Paul's 28 - #4 Of 28 / 2008 / Burnt Gold / Guitar For Sale
This 2008 PRS Private Stock Paul’s 28 model is number 4 of only 28 ever made and is one of the rarest and most coveted guitars in the entire PRS lineage! Conceived as a personal statement by Paul Reed Smith and built by himself and his most elite luthiers, Paul’s 28 is an ultra-limited Private Stock masterpiece that showcases the very best in rare, exotic materials, master craftsmanship, and tone. Each of these instruments was individually spec’d, part-built and signed by Paul himself with photos documenting the process. A true collector’s piece and a stunning guitar of the highest quality.
Number 4 in the series has one of the curliest Maple tops Paul has ever seen which came from a tree Paul obtained in a trade with a PRS Dragon I. The "Burnt Gold" finish (something that took Paul two years to research and perfect), finished in paper thin Nitro perfectly highlights the depth and movement of the figuring. The body is made from rare ribbon striped African mahogany that was hand selected from an entire warehouse of wood. The neck was carved by Paul from a super-rare, single-piece Pernumbuca neck blank and topped with an exotic black East Indian rosewood fingerboard and Mexican rosewood headstock veneer. It's safe to say this instruments' exquisite detail and presentation is quite breathtaking!
Under the hood, this Paul’s 28 is equipped with custom-wound 57/08 humbuckers, delivering articulate vintage-inspired tones with modern clarity. It feels great to play - something that won't come as a surprise to any PRS player!
All in all, as well as a stunning instrument this is a technical and artistic achievement, born from Paul Reed Smith's personal vision of the ultimate instrument. Complete with a custom Private Stock case and full documentation, it stands as one of the most exclusive and finely crafted PRS guitars ever produced, and a holy grail for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
