This is a STUNNING 100% original (apart from trem arm and a re-fret) vintage late 1966 - classic year - original Fender Stratocaster in sunburst which has the original black tolex Stratocaster hard shell case.

This guitar is 100% original apart from the trem arm and an excellent quality refret. There are NO issues…! No broken solder anywhere and all original finish which has faded on the top to almost like a 2 tone lemon burst shade. You only really see this type of fade on transistional Strats from ’64-’66 and I guess it must be due to the red dye they used during that period. You can see the unfaded red on the back and under the pick guard.

Original finish is road worn in the classic way these Strats wear with some forearm wear and some belt buckle rash on the back plus the usual dings here and there. Original pickguard is crack free but the original tram cover on the back is cracked in the middle and by the screws in places (please see photos)

All electrics including 3 way switch and the 3 amazing sounding classic ’66 Hendrix era staggered pole pickups are all original and lovely balanced with a great bell like Strat tone...

Case is in good condition with correct, no tail logo but does have one broken latch.

There are no extra routes anywhere, this guitar has a brilliant feel and significant mojo!! Guitar plays well and sounds classic and superb with a great strong, balanced sound from all 3 pickups. Feel of the neck is great and you can see why these 1966 Strats are so sought after. All 3 pickups date to 11-66, pots are all mid ’66 except one late ’65 one. It has the 1966 ‘ES’ body stamp, neck date is SEPT 66 and serial number is 189448 - everything totally checks out! No monkey business going on here

Weight is a nice 3.4Kg, neck profile is classic ‘C’ shape and even the transistional logo still retians the gold part of the lettering - very cool.
