MHP 72 DEGREES
 OVERDRIVE

The MHP 72 DEGREES is a light to medium overdrive that seasoned guitar players of all stripes have asked for. It combines a sweet glassy attack with soft compression as the note decays, giving you warm and carefully colored overdrive tones. Wonderfully balanced harmonic content serves up twang and bite, combined with smoothness that you deserve to hear for yourself. Pick lightly and the notes stay clean. Dig in to dynamically transition to dirty tones.
The MHP 72 DEGREES behaves much more like an extension of your amp than the typical overdrive pedal of yesteryear. Try one and experience it for yourself, and prepare to be pleasantly surprised!
Completely built by hand, with a handmade overbuilt circuitboard, one at a time.

Positive comments from satisfied customers:

"Hi Keith- Got one of your 72 Degrees pedals a few weeks ago, saw Burgs playing in a YT clip and gave it a whirl - Really nice, great feel, plays nice with my amps, stacks really well with other pedals, gobbles up single coils. Thanks, and just wanted to spread the word that your art is appreciated!! - Trent"

"I bought at Atomic Music…the 72 Degrees. ****ing awesome. I had never been to Atomic Music, but I'm playing through a bunch of amps to figure out what I want. I made a passing comment asking if they had any used TS-9s or 808's, and the guy immediately said, "yeah, but I've also got something better." He actually said he would be surprised if I didn't buy it. Of course, my reaction was, "okay buddy, whatever." Played it for 20 minutes (2001 Clapton Sig into a Vibrolux reissue) and bought it immediately. Not only that, but my buddy also bought one after playing the above setup. I ate my words, this pedal sounds so good.
Job well done. - Nick"

"Wanted to tell you that the 72* is one of the BEST pedals I've ever owned. I've had/have many of the boutique usual suspects and the 72* is phenomenal; no weird transients on note decay (I can't believe how many boutique pedals don't get this right), a totally usable tone range and a warm OD that sounds killer at low and gig level volumes. I have never had one pedal that works so well with ALL of my amps: 6v6, EL84, 6L6 and EL34. I wish you the best on continued success. Thank you for designing a pedal that just plain works. - Austin"

"Just wanted to let you know I really liked your pedal. I think the voice quality was fantastic. In fact the best I have heard. - Tom"

"The pedal sounds absolutely……fantastic. What a joy to play with something that responds so well and sounds so sweet. - L.G."

"I got my MHP 72 Degrees pedal not long ago, and just wanted to write you to tell you how utterly blown away I am by this pedal! I've been on a ridiculously long quest to find an overdrive pedal with plenty of drive, but also a really "transparent" sound. I'm happy to say that quest is FINALLY over. Simply the best overdrive pedal I've ever owned, hands down, and I've owned a ton! Just like this pedal was recommended to me by a trusted friend and guitar player, I won't hesitate to recommend this pedal to anyone and everyone who will listen! - Paul"

"Hi Keith - Just a quick note to say great job! I recently picked up a 72 Degrees from Atomic (I live in DC), and am loving it. It's sharing my board space with a Maxon OD-9 and an Analogman King of Tone, so you're in good company! I'm having fun stacking these drives in various ways, and love the sounds your pedal is bringing to the party. I love the way that the 72 can get to high gain, but still keep some of the chunk, crackle and harmonics normally associated with lower gain settings. And actually, I only have it's gain set at about 1:00. But when it gets hit by the KoT and/or the OD-9, a high gain party breaks out, and the MHP 72 ensures that those characteristics of clarity (chunk, crackle, harmonics... ) stay in there. Very nice. - James"

Who And What We Are  MHP is Keith Aviles. But the old saying that no man is an island is truly appropriate, as the "MHP Unofficial Roster" is so responsible in many ways for helping to ensure that the pedals and mods really perform, that you receive them quickly, and that there is no need to outsource (even locally), to ensure that Keith's ideas, vision, personal building style, and picky quality control process are never compromised. For this reason, the plural references in regards to MHP will stay as they are. Everything is done in house and entirely by hand, including drilling and powdercoating enclosures, 100% hand wiring, design and implementation of enclosure graphics, and even etching of the circuit boards.

Why Choose A Pedal From MHP?  That is the big question, and can really only be answered by the individual guitarist. The needs of any two are rarely the same. And no amount of mass advertising and self touted credentials will ever truly communicate that, either. So we are counting on the "MHP Recipe" to make true believers out of you, if we have to do it one email at a time, one phone conversation at a time, one sale at a time. This recipe combines a knowledge of technology, design, production, creativity, research, and a true desire to communicate with you. There's a touch of bravado as well, as Keith is not one to simply replicate classic designs. Some unusual techniques are used to reach goals as well, along with a 21st century mindset.

...But what is obviously important is how MHP pedals sound and perform. You will most likely be pleasantly surprised. Very surprised. This is backed up by the "one week deal" with standard MHP hand built pedals.
