We are pleased to offer a 1961 Fender Stratocaster from the highly desirable slab fingerboard era.

Introduced in mid-1959, the slab rosewood fingerboard remained in use until mid-1962 and is widely appreciated by players and collectors alike for its distinctive tonal character. Many guitarists associate this period with a fuller, warmer tone, often described as the classic early-1960s Stratocaster sound.

This example dates from 1961 and features the classic three-tone sunburst finish typical of the period. Unlike many instruments from this era where the red portion of the burst has faded away over time, this guitar still retains visible red coloration, adding to its vintage appeal.

The guitar shows honest playwear, including arm wear and buckle wear consistent with decades of use, but overall remains in excellent condition for a vintage instrument.

The output jack has been replaced, while the rest of the components, including the pickups, appear to remain original.

The neck has been refinished, with the exception of the clear lacquer on the heel where the original date stamp is located. The refinished neck has been done carefully and closely matches the original appearance and feel.

Tonally, the guitar delivers the bold and expressive sound associated with slab-board Stratocasters, with strong output and rich harmonic character developed over years of playing.

The instrument comes with its original brown Tolex Fender hard case.
