Kay / Red Devil Speed Demon / 1960 / Flamey Trans Red / Guitar

Here we have one of the coolest pieces we've found on one of our recent guitar safaris. This is a 1960's Truetone by Kay Speed Demon "Red Devil". Truetone is one of the lesser known brands produced by Kay but they do NOT disappoint. The Red Devil is a gorgeous double-cutaway hollowbody electric guitar finished in a trans red nitro on a curly Maple top with three-ply binding. The guard is original but has has a small crack repair. The neck is a classic C and the fretboard is Brazillian Rosewood with a floating Rosewood bridge. This Red Devil is set up with "Speed Bump" pick ups which was common on most Kay's, each with independent volume & tone knobs. This thing has tone FOR DAYS! The guitar weighs 6lbs 8oz, the fretboard radius measures 9.5", with a 25 3/4" scale and a 1 11/16" nut width. The best part (we're getting there) is Bigsby B6 vibrato system! The guitar is in good condition, with some scratches and checking here and there. However, the guitar is structurally and tonally sound. This piece comes with a hardshell case.
