1968 Fender Jazzmaster – Original Sea Foam Green Custom Color
Just arrived and now in stock.
We are pleased to offer a 1968 Fender Jazzmaster finished in its original Sea Foam Green custom color, one of the rarer finishes seen on late-1960s Fender instruments.
By 1968 the Jazzmaster had entered the CBS era, featuring the distinctive bound maple neck with pearloid block inlays, a look that has become highly associated with late-'60s Fender guitars.
While custom colors were still available during this period, the vast majority of instruments were produced in standard finishes. Aside from more common options such as Candy Apple Red and Lake Placid Blue, most other custom colors were produced in very limited numbers. Sea Foam Green examples from this era are especially uncommon, making this a particularly attractive piece for collectors.
The guitar remains in excellent overall condition. There has been some minor touch-up work around the sides of the body to address small scratches, but the original finish remains largely intact. The clear coat shows only light natural yellowing, which beautifully complements the Sea Foam Green color.
All parts appear to be original, and the guitar comes with its original black Tolex case.
Tonally, the instrument delivers the classic vintage Jazzmaster character Leo Fender envisioned, with clear articulation, strong midrange presence, and the wide dynamic range that makes these guitars equally suited for clean, expressive playing or heavier rock textures.
