We are pleased to offer a 1971 Fender Precision Bass finished in its original Lake Placid Blue custom color, a striking and desirable finish from the early 1970s.
From its introduction in 1951 through mid-1968, the Precision Bass featured a wider 45 mm nut width. In 1969, Fender revised the neck profile to a narrower 42 mm nut width, making the instrument more comfortable for many players and accommodating evolving playing techniques.
This example is a 1971 model with the narrower neck profile, offering a slim and comfortable feel while retaining the classic Precision Bass tone.
The bass remains in excellent overall condition. While the finish shows slight greening, which is common for Lake Placid Blue instruments of this era, the guitar still retains a vibrant blue appearance.
Aside from a replaced nut, the instrument appears to remain original and unmodified.
The comfortable neck profile and articulate response make this bass equally appealing for fingerstyle playing or pick attack, delivering the classic punch and clarity associated with vintage Precision Basses.
