A 1960 Fender Stratocaster “Slab Fingerboard Neck” has just arrived.

This is an early slab fingerboard-era Stratocaster in sunburst. Slab-board Strats are highly sought-after, and this one is described as having a fat, hot tone that’s unique to the slab era.

This particular guitar is a 1960 model, made shortly after the slab fingerboard was introduced in late 1959.

As you’d expect from a vintage instrument that’s been around for about 65 years, the exterior shows wear and weather checking, but overall it is described as excellent-plus condition. Many guitars from this period have sunburst finishes where the red fades significantly, leaving a two-tone look. This one is described as being in a transitional stage of fading, giving it a look that’s characteristic of early slab-era Strats.

The guitar is described as completely original with no modifications, with all parts original. The sound is also described as excellent, delivering the thick, harmonically rich tone that slab-board Strats are known for.

Includes the original brown Tolex hardshell case.
